The Fashion Insitute Arnhem is famous for its desigers. Big stars like Viktor & Rolf and Spijkers en Spijkers all studied at the institute.
This year they introduced to us four new designers.
The first one to show was Lifu Hsiao his collection was inspired by 1920's lady look infused with inspiration from the streets of Amsterdam. With a lot of art nouveau and art deco influences in Amsterdam architecture.
The second designer to show was Sanne Schrijver. The shapes in her collection are big, round and voluminous. The fabrics are wrapped around and of the body versus close to the body. The colours are masculine: dark blue, chocolate, anthracite and bronze. Feminine: soft skintones, white, beige and faded pink. And bright: yellow, like ochre, fuchsia and red like a flame.

Julia Eichler's collection was inspired by modern African art. The way people in Africa use materials is the main inspiration. They reclycle trash and make art out of it.

Last but not least Claes Iversen get to show his collection. He was inspired by randomness, accidents, miss-forms, misshapes and garbage. They form the basis of the shapes in his new collection. Fasten your seat-belt, we are up for a bumpy ride!
